I am joined by two amazing guests, Mike from the Funnie Paper podcast and Jon from almost every ATH show. They talk about their experiences as Dungeon Masters and the rise of tabletop gaming during the lockdown.
Special thanks to all the DMs willing to help new players.
Today we review the Sonic the Hedgehog Movie but like any good After The Hype Podcast we waited for the noise to die down a bit before we reviewed it. Bryan Dressel (Behind the Hype and Venture Bros Podcast) And Jonathan Hardesty (Demon Dayz) join us to discuss all things Sonic movie and wither or not it made us cry. Spoiler alert it only made Brok cry.
Special Thanks to Cyclops; you are a way better than Wolverine.
Hey guys! Due to some technical difficulties we don’t have a new episode for you this week, so we thought we would jump in our time travel machine that’s suspiciously shaped like a police box and go back to our Batman V. Superman episode, which featured special guests Alex Marshall-Brown and Armond Richards. It was a blast to record and we all managed to survive the brawl between the supes and the bat. See you next week with a new episode!
It’s Christmas in July! Or rather, it’s the summer version of our secret santa movie exchange. We had so much fun doing this last time that we brought Christopher Ortiz back to do it again. Our pal (and former co-host) Ryan James assigned each of us a person and we gave them a movie we thought they would enjoy (or not).
Welcome to the second week of our ORIGINS month in which we’re taking a look back at the origin stories of each of the hosts of the podcast. Last week we went back to the very beginning to talk Dead Space. Let’s jump ahead a few weeks to our PROMETHEUS episode, which just so happens to be Jonathan’s introduction to the podcast, as well as Graham’s introduction as frequent guest!
Did you have a good holiday? I bet it wasn’t as crazy as the one that Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Leavitt, and Anthony Mackie experienced in THE NIGHT BEFORE. Bet it didn’t involve a weed-dispensing Michael Shannon, and we’re willing to bet it didn’t involve taking a miniature train through a light tunnel to attend the biggest party of the year. It was that crazy? Oh. Well. Cheers. Special guest Erik Steffens joins us for this wild and crazy episode!
It’s a Secret Santa Special! We’re changing things up for the holidays and giving each other the gift of…MOVIES. That’s right, we’ve picked a movie for each of our co-hosts to watch and they have to guess who picked the movie. Also, we ALL have to give 30 second breakdowns of the movies we’re assigned. It’s the most important episode you’ll listen to yet! Friend of the show Christopher Ortiz joins us in this wonderful movie game! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Laika has done it again with their new film KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS, and we couldn’t wait to talk about it. Friend of the show Mackenzie Peykov joins us to talk about the animated film and delve into why once again no one went out to see this one.
Gather ’round the fire because we’re about to duke it out for BEST “SNOWED IN” MOVIE. We’re joined by special guest Matt Lantrip, who makes perhaps the most aggressive argument for his film. Don’t wait another second and give this episode a listen!
