Star Wars, Apple, and Mario, Oh My!

What a weekend, am I right? Here’s some interesting news to come from the past few days. First up we’ve got news that more Star Wars movies ARE DEFINITELY HAPPENING. How exciting that news is largely up to how you feel after Rise of Skywalker. Next up, we’ve got Apple testing their noninvasive blood glucose technology, which I think is pretty neat. Wrapping things up we delve into the impressive box office numbers of everyone’s favorite video game plumber. It’s Mario. Mario wins the box office. That’s the tweet, or whatever.

New Harry Potter Series, Overwatch Hero, and XBOX Controller?

Some controversial and interesting announcements make up Yesterday’s News. First we’ve got the ever-increasing possibility of a Harry Potter TV series with oversight from J.K. Rowling. We’ve got a new Overwatch hero announcement. And then to wrap things up we’ve got an announcement about a new XBox Controller made from recycled materials. Neat.

More Moana, Street Fighter, and Game of Thrones?

Been a bit of a slow few days, but here’s some news that I would classify under the category of “Again?” Moana is back, but this time it’s live action and The Rock will star as every character. The Street Fighter rights go to Legendary so we’ll get another movie whether we are interested or not. And finally, a new possible Game of Thrones prequel thing to release before Winds of Winter. We’re…NEVER…getting Winds of Winter.

Vertigo, John Wick, and Plastic Bags?

A slow news weekend, but we pulled some highlights. We’ve got a blasphemous remake of Vertigo in the works with Robert Downey Jr. maybe set to star. Shazam loses yet again to the newly released John Wick 4. Finally, those recycled plastic bags you use in stores might not be recycled. There’s not really a good way to tell.

Tarantino Critic Flick, MetaHumans, and Swatting?

Swatting is an awful thing and while it’s nice to hear that there’s some closure for the first bit of news today, it’s still a somber revelation that the worst in gaming improves slowly, if at all. I also snuck in a link to A.O. Scott’s farewell to film criticism amidst a small opinion piece discussing recent Tarantino news. The Metahumans thing is pretty cool.
