4.06: Self-Medication

This week on the podcast Bryan Dressel, Nick “Clayface” Friedemann, and Graham “The Whizzer” Mason do a little “Self-Medication;” or rather, they talk about the episode called “Self-Medication.” It’s a solid middle-of-the-road episode, unless you’re Graham, in which case it’s not anything special.

Episode #273 – A Fish Called Wanda (Mini Episode)

This week it’s a more intimate podcast as Bryan and Chewie talk about A Fish Called Wanda…all from the comfort of their marital bed! The film sports a stellar cast, including John Cleese, Michael Palin, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Kevin Kline, who practically steals the show. An overall fun romp, the likes of which don’t get made today.

4.04: Return to Malice

This week on the show Bryan Dressel, Nick “Wally West’s The Flash” Friedemann, and Graham “Tim Drake’s Robin” Mason talk Return to Malice, a fun episode with a lot of moving parts. There’s the re-imagined 21 in search of 24’s killer, Monarch’s anaphylactic face troubles, Sgt. Hatred’s inability to prevent the boys from getting kidnapped and witnessing Princess Tinyfeet in S&M play with Private Schwa, and Dr. Venture reminiscing with Dr. Mrs. the Monarch about the inhabitants of Malice. A lot of good stuff here.

Episode #272 – Inspector Gadget & Green Lantern

This week on the podcast it’s just Bryan and Jon as they talk about Inspector Gadget and Green Lantern, two movies that were widely hated and that ended up damaging or altering the careers of their main actors. They delve into the similarities between the films as well as what worked and what didn’t. It’s a fun, smaller episode that you won’t want to miss.

4.03: Perchance to Dean

This week on the episode Bryan Dressel, Nick “Nightwing” Friedemann, and Graham “Nebula” Mason talk about the “most hated” episode of season four and why it just doesn’t click like the others. There’s continuity in that they use characters from the show, but it just doesn’t really fit. You know, like a Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horror episode.

Episode #271 – Bohemian Rhapsody

Scaramouche? Galileo? Beelzebub? We grapple with the disappointing Bohemian Rhapsody this week on the podcast and try to make sense of what went wrong and why this couldn’t have just been a movie about Freddie Mercury and Bowie creating “Under Pressure.” Special thanks to Elliot Campos for joining us this week and providing – once again – an excellent breakdown worthy of Queen itself.

4.02: Handsome Ransom

This week on the glorious Venture Bros: A Venture Brothers Podcast Bryan Dressel, Nick “The Penguin” Friedemann, and Graham “Stargirl” Mason talk about HANDSOME RANSOM!! We’re introduced to Captain Sunshine and his arc with Hank, which in true Venture Bros fashion approaches that “offensive” line, and does a little jig on it. A very fun episode whose A-story and B-story don’t mesh nearly as well as they should.
