Howdy folks, Jonathan here with a little update. To give Bryan and Chewie a little more time off I extended the hiatus by a week and went into our back catalog to share one of my favorite episodes of the podcast: Why Don’t You Play In Hell by Japanese filmmaker Sion Sono. On recommendation by Bryan and Chewie and for the podcast I gave this film a shot and it won me over completely with it’s black comedy and excessive violence. I hope you check it out!
For our last episode of the hiatus we’re going back to episode one hundred to talk about the best movie ever made. You’re probably thinking of a specific movie in your head as we say this, so let’s make sure we’re all on the same page here. It’s Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Glad we could sync up on that. Enjoy!
We’re still in hiatus this week so we thought it would be interesting to go back to our episode on THE BABADOOK, one of the best horror films of the last decade. Chewie was here to help us dissect what makes this movie so dang great, as was friend of the show Hunter and newcomer Donnacha. It’s worth noting that we had Donnacha call in over the internet, so his audio quality is a little low. Apologies in advance. It’s the Babadook’s fault.
This week we’re going back to an earlier episode for one of Bryan’s favorite movies – Ex Machina. It’s a wonderful, hilarious, and genre-elevating film bursting at the seams with heart.
